Complex Trauma (Leeds CCG)

Our many years of experience and training informs our practice in supporting clients who have complex trauma in response to being a Refugee.  Trauma comes from many aspects of the experience of seeking Refuge.

The reason for exile, the journey to safety, the experience of the asylum system, multiple losses, change of culture, ongoing trouble in country of origin, are just a few of the complicating factors that traumatised refugees can find challenging.

Our Complex trauma funding means that we can take a small number of clients who experience symptoms of complex trauma related to being a refugee or asylum seeker.

We find that combining body therapy to help with somatised responses and therapy that is trauma aware, we can help clients to gain control of symptoms and improve their mental health and quality of life.  Many of our clients make use of our stress management group to facilitate ongoing recovery.
